Alaska Airlines is now offering a 10% discount off
their lowest available fare for Institute participants. Please enter the
following codes in the appropriate box when making your Alaska Air reservations
to the site you have selected:

The discount is good for flights
3 days before and after the dates of each Summer Institute. For example,
a discounted flight may be requested for travel to the Juneau Institute
as early as July 16 and returning as late as July 24.
Also, Juneau hotels
will generally accept a government rate for the Summer Institutes in
Place-Based Education. Examples of this government rate are: Travelodge
Hotel = $129.00 and for the Frontier Suites Airport Hotel = $119.00
Participants
in the Juneau Summer Institute may also obtain rooms at approximately
half the local hotel rate by sending an email to:

Seattle
The conference
hotel in Seattle is the La Quinta Inn (2224 8th Ave) (800-531-5900) about
2 blocks from our meeting room at Antioch University Seattle. The Antioch
guest rate during the summer season is $129.00. We may be able to obtain
a better rate if we reserve more than ten rooms, so if you intend to stay
at the La Quinta Inn please send an email to: twright@antiochsea.edu so
we can negotiate accordingly.
Juneau
The Juneau session will be held at the Juneau-Douglas High School library
and the closest hotels are the Breakwater Inn across the street (907-586-6303),
the Prospector Hotel about five blocks away (907-586-3737) and the Goldbelt
Hotel about seven blocks away (907-586-6900)? Participants should be able
to get a government rate when they call.
Sitka
The Sitka Institute will be held at the Sheldon Jackson College campus
with specific buildings and room numbers/names to be announced. Sitka
hotels include
the Westmark Shee Atika (800-544-0970), Totem Square Inn (907-747-3693),
and Super 8.
We will provide transportation to the meeting sites for guests staying
within 5 miles of those sites in Sitka and Juneau. Public transportation
is widely
available for those attending the Seattle workshop.
A limited number of rooms will be available in
the Mt.Edgecumbe High School dorms. The rate is $60.00 for single occupancy
and $70.00 for two people, per night. These rooms will be assigned on a first-come-first-served
basis. Checks or money orders should be made payable for the full amount
