Tassie's Summer Highlight

This summer Tassie attended the Russian Orthodox Youth Camp in Ohogamiut. It is a bible study camp for kids and is held every year, usually in late July. Kids from Pilot Station, Marshall, and some from Russian Mission, attend the four day camp.

Every morning during the four days started with a church service directed by Father Stan Heckman. Then there were different bible study classes to attend during the afternoons. After the classes the kids had free time when they could play games.

This year Tassie brought her brother, Leo Jr., with her to Youth Camp. Tassie mostly enjoyed the free time when she hung around with her friends and watched the fireworks on the last day of the camp. She said, "The best thing about this year's Youth Camp was staying with my friends and making new ones. The only thing I didn't like was all the bugs that bothered me."

Tassie has been going to Youth Camp since she was little and plans on going until she is a grown girl.
