In my Daughter's
Helicopter
I went back home to Batesville,
Arkansas, and met up with my wife Theresa. I stayed home for a couple
days and then my wife and I drove down to Branson, Missouri, and
waited for the world to fall apart like everyone else. But it didn't
happen.
We then drove to Fort Rucher,
Alabama, where we watched my daughter graduate from flight school.
Being the proud father, I pinned her pilot's wings on her. We stayed
at Fort Rucher for three days where I met her fiancé. It felt
kind of weird sitting in the helicopter that our daughter was
flying.
My wife and I spent a lot of time
together over the vacation. We watched a play at the theater called
The Green Mile. I really enjoyed it.
I left for Bethel on Jan. 15, and got
stuck there for four days. While I was over there I went to the
cultural center. I also met a friend of mine from Bethel who was an
ivory carver. I hadn't seen him in five years.
When the weather finally cleared I
came out to Russian Mission first, then I flew out here to Marshall.
I had an enjoyable Christmas vacation, though.
