 Elena Sergie

Elena Sergie
Head Cook

Elena works here at the Marshall School as Head Cook. Elena was born in 1945 at Pitka's Point. She was raised there and grew up there.

She went to school at St. Mary's but did not finish. Elena worked as a cook from 1969 to 1993 in Pitka's Point. She then came up to Marshall. She heard about the opening after Angeline Coffee retired in the spring of 1997, and she decided to apply for the job. She got the job and was hired in May, 1997, but she didn't start until the 1997-98 school year. She really likes her job because it keeps her busy.

Before she started cooking for the students in Pitka's Point and Marshall she had to receive training. She was sent to Seward for two weeks the first time, and the second time she stayed there for one month.

The best thing she likes about her job is learning new recipes and how to make new things.
