Andy Boots' Summer of
'92
"After working in the Marshall High
School for nine months, I took the summer off like all summers
before. During the month of May I layed off and didn't do much else
except the thing I do best, taking steam baths. Every night I take
steam baths with Simeon Sergie and others. It gives me something to
do and I like it, plus it keeps me very clean. Other than that during
May I minded the store and kept it running."
"During the months of June and July I
helped Olga commercial fish for King and Chum salmon. The fishing
season this summer was very short compared to previous years. In July
I got invited to a wedding in Russian Mission. I was there for a day
or two for the wedding and dance. I also watched the Summer Olympics
in Barcelona, which was interesting to watch."
"I also brought my two sons out
hunting, and also rod and reeling. Once
I took them out waterfowl hunting near Kayaqutaq. Beginning in June
through August I minded the store, which was alright. Then on
the Twenty-fourth of August I
began working in the school again. My summer by fast, though it was fun."
