Clem Kameroff's Summer
Vacation
"In the month of May, I went out
goose hunting all around the river and back behind Pilcher Mountain.
During June, I subsistence fished a few times. And I also worked for
PHS, hauling gravel and working with heavy equipment."
"Before the commercial fishing season
started, I worked on a 90 h.p. engine so that I would have an engine
to bring me fishing. Then near the
end of June I commercial fished for a
couple of openings. The fishing season this summer was very short,
though it ran into the beginning of July. The reason it was so short
was because the Dept. Fish and Game
would like more fish to come back
next year. Also, the quota for the fishing season had already been
met."
"In July, I subsistence fished for
salmon to put away for the winter for both our family and for my
dogs. In July and August; I worked for PHS
once again. The PHS still needs more
work done so I'll be working for them in the future. During September
I went out moose hunting and somewhat got a moose. Actually, my
hunting partner got it and we got some meat. So I'll be moose hunting
again sometime in a couple of days. It's been a typical summer, just
like all others before."
