Summer Fun In
Marshall
After school got out this spring, I
stayed out all night and hung around with my friends until I had to
go to Seattle to visit my dad in the second week of May.
In Seattle it was extra boring during
the first week, and I really wanted to come home. Then we started to
do some fun things, like travel around town by bus. We also went to
an arcade place on University Avenue, and we saw some
movies.
In Virginia, though, it was extra
boring because there was only sunshine for three or four days out of
two weeks. But once we went to this haunted house where at first we
thought it was a ripoff because all they were showing was wax corpses
and "scary" masks. Suddenly this guy jumped out and scared the hell
out of us. It happened a couple more times after that and we just
laughed. We also went to this mini golf place and played both mini
golf and some arcade games.
The most fun I had this summer was
here in Marshall. The day I came back I went to look for some of my
friends and we hung around all night until it started to get bright
in the morning. A week or two later I went over to the sandbar with
Joel, where I tried Dave Andrew's knee board. All of the part of the
summer that I spent in Marshall I stayed out late and got into
mischief. I also made a "new" bike out of one of Nick Coffee's old
bike frames. It went through a lot of repairs this summer because
some people don't have respect for other people's stuff. It's working
pretty good right now, though. Before I started working on it, it had
no back wheel, crooked handlebars, and some bearings were missing
from the pedals. I spray painted the whole thing black after I
finished it.
I went on a couple of boat rides this
summer too, but they were pretty boring. When Jonathan "Yoda" Nick
was here we had a lot of fun because he told some of his stories
about wiping out on wake boards, knee boards and other things, and
about having fun at Pilot Station where he lives. I had some fun
visiting my dad and my grandparents, but I would have liked it better
if I had stayed here in Marshall all summer.
