to use as an example of Culturally-based curriculum and documentation. These

Traveling on the
River
"My summer was fun. I went out on a
lot of boat rides with my family. When we went out on boat rides we
would go to Kwik,Owl Slough, Takchak, Willow and Wilson. I especially
liked going to Kwik and Owl Slough because there was more to do
there. When we went to those places we would rod and reel, pick
berries, pick punk for my mom, or just ride around in the
boat.
When I got back to Marshall I played
basketball with my sister Mary Jane, either outside our house or up
on the school playground. Before I could play basketball, though, I
had to do my chores around the house.
In August, before school started, I
went to St.Mary's with my parents, Mary Jane, Rena Boots, Debbie Duny
and Debbie's children. We went down to do grocery shopping and get me
some new clothes for school.
The best part of my summer was
traveling on the river because I enjoy being outdoors and seeing the
birds and animals there."
