Push hard for attendance.
- Make the library inviting and
attractive with pictures, posters, comfortable chairs,
and a showcase or display.
- Label the sections of the library:
Fiction, Animals, etc.
- Make the open house a teaching
experience by helping people locate books and check them
out.

Variations
- Have some orientation classes
showing people how to use the library. Students earn
credit for training adults. If classes are in the
evenings, they would earn extra credit.
- Have students take a few books
and/ or magazines each week to parents and neighbors to
show what is available and to increase interest in
visiting the library.
