Leslie Hunter Sr.
Manager of Hunter
Sales
Leslie is the owner and the operator
of Hunter Sales. After organizing the local corporation, Mas. Inc.
many years ago, he started his own business. Before that he had
finished high school and had gone to college for two 1/2
years.
Most of the time Leslie works in his
office, and the people he works with are his clerks and vendors he
orders from. He is the owner and manager of the store. The amount he
works depends on how much he sells here, and he works a lot more when
he travels to Anchorage to do his buying. He is planning on turning
the store over to Karen and Bumboy after he retires. His salary
depends on the amount of profit he makes.
His responsibilities are to make sure
his accounting books are up to date, the store is well stocked,
maintenence is done, and nothing is frozen up. And he must make sure
he doesn't go bankrupt!
The best thing about his job is that
he is his own boss and can leave anytime he wants to. The worst thing
about his job is his book work. His advice to the students is to
graduate from high school and use good common sense in whatever you
do.
