Nora Tikiun
Community Health
Aide
Nora works as a Community Health
Aide, and her employer is Health Aide Services, YKHC in Bethel. Her
boss is Elena Nelson Rothchild. She makes $17.94 an Hour. The kind of
training she had was on the human body, types of sicknesses, how to
treat sickness and emergencies, and what kinds of medication and how
much of it to give out.
Nora mainly works in the Marshall
Health Clinic for at least six hours per day, five days a week. She
works with Ruth and Liz Fitka.
Her responsibilities are checking and
reporting on patients, home visits to elders and patients in bed, and
making sure medication is in stock and not out of date. The best
thing about her job is working with the people and treating them with
respect. The worst thing about her job is having emergencies with
alcohol involved.
Her advice to young people who want
to become a Health Aide is to have courage when they see bad
emergencies.
